The year is 2051, and Disney has run out of ideas for all of their content. But luckily they fumble themselves into the idea of doing a Space Jam style movie, but instead of MJ or Lebron and the Tune Squad playing basketball, its the Marvel Cinematic Universe Heroes, and they play football. I have taken the role of general manager and have put together the best team to save the universe as we know it.
(Villian team to come)
OFFENSE
QB: Clint Barton / Hawkeye / Ronin
- prototypical west coast style quarterback, Barton offers great vision and accuracy, and can make every throw we will need him to make, while also being sneaky athletic allowing him to extend plays and pull the trigger on some off-platform throws.
Shades of: 4th quarter Matthew Stafford
RB1: Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier / White Wolf
- He could do this all day, break tackles and stiff arm people with his vibranium arm that is. Barnes will server as our 1st and 2nd down back, filling in that power back role, but also has the hands to make catches if needed.
Shades of: Arian Foster with a Derrick Henry stiffarm
RB2: Sam Wilson / Falcon / Captain America
- the pass catching and pass pro role will be filled by Wilson. Being little quicker and more agile than Barnes, Wilson will allow us to open up the offence on all 3rd down scenarios, not to mention that wings will assist in making him vital in pass pro.
Shades of: Jamaal Williams
FB: Drax
- Mound of muscle with dense body composition, also the ability to hide in the backfield, basically becoming invisible, to pull off a surprise block to unsuspecting rushers
- Shades of: Anthony Sherman
WR1: Pietro Maximoff / Quicksilver
- need this guy in the WR room, taking the top off the defense is needed in the modern game, and Maximoff will just do that. Also won’t be afraid to take a big hit to make the play.
Shades of: DeSean Jackson, but has a 100% healthy hamstring every play
WR2: Peter Parker / Spider-Man
- hands and twitch quickness/agility are the traits that put Parker in this position. He has the ability to stick every one hand catch, and this will free his other arm to help fight off any defenders.
Shades of: 2014 Week 11 Odell Beckham Jr.
Slot WR: Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow
- Romanoff’s elite traits are her toughness, and coordination. She won’t be afraid to run routes and take hits across the middle, and she has the footwork for an amazing release. She will be a great fit for the slot reciever on this team.
Shades of: Late Seattle, Early Detroit Golden Tate
TE: Peter Quill / Star-Lord
- with a mix of size and speed, Quill is the perfect build for our team’s tight end. He’ll be able to get in the trenches and block with the big boys, but also can get his feet loose for route running and getting yards after catch.
Shades of: Tampa Bay Gronk
LT: Scott Lang / Ant-Man
- plays a lot bigger than he looks, and will be able to match the size and speed of any defender he has to go up against. works hard and willing to master new techniques.
Shades of: delta of pro Joe Thomas and retired Joe Thomas
LG: Wong
- great build for a guard, also it is built in his human nature to protect, which is why have him on the blind side is a must.
Shades of: TJ Lang
C: Steve Rogers / Captain America
- elite leader for this offensive line, smart player with a great head on his shoulders, knows the goal, and what it takes to reach that goal. The shield is a plus in pass pro, and will definitely help when pounding the rock, also can do this all day.
Shades of: Jason Kelce
RG: Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch
- at first glance, this might seem like a bad fit, but she made a whole forcefield city to protect a dead vision, so she’ll fit perfectly protecting a QB and creating lanes for RBs (all of which will be alive). Also see timestamp 3:48 in the below video (didn’t know how to describe it, but this is elite guard traits on display)
Shades of: Quenton Nelson
RT: Groot
- capping off our line with another guy who can play to the level of anyone he’s lined up against. When Groot finds his spot he can plant his feet and no one will get by him. He also has the agression to get downhill when we are running the ball to his side of the line.
Shades of: Trent Williams
DEFENSE
DE: Thor
- Elite size, length and athleticism. Thor has set of disruptive properties have are fully weaponized and he possesses superior traits and the ability to wreck and alter offensive game-plans as a perennial All-Pro
Shades of: Myles Garrett vs AFC North QBs
DT: Korg
- Korg is a linebacker's best friend with ability to gobble up blockers, and great size for the middle of our line
Shades of: Tevita Tuliʻakiʻono Tuipulotu Mosese Vaʻhae Fehoko Faletau Vea
DT (4-3): Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian
- another ideal build defensive tackle with the quickness and power to ruin a reach block and has powerful club move interrupts punch and balance of opponent.
Shades of: Ndamukong Suh
DE: Bruce Banner / Hulk
- Bigger than people think, Uber-athlete with spring-loaded hips and elite explosiveness, knows when to channel emotion into style of play
- Shades of: Shawn Oakmon (Baylor)
LB: T'Challa / Black Panther
- Rare level of explosiveness, speed and agility, moves around the field like a loose-hipped running back, plays both fast and physical. T’Challa will be our main speed/coverage backer
- Shades of: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
MLB: Tony Stark / Iron Man
- the leader of our defense, stick-and-move hands help him stay disconnected from blockers, great maneuverability and will be able to read the play before it even happens
- Shades of: Legion of Boom Bobby Wagner
MLB (3-4): Gamora
- Elite range with burst/speed, Gamora talented hunter when blitz is dialed up
- Shades of: Micah Parsons
LB: James Rhodes / War Machine
- very similar play style to Tony Stark, with range to make plays all over the field
- Shades of: Post Legion of Boom Bobby Wagner
CB: Doctor Stephen Strange
- Supreme athletic ability, mirrors and matches with good balance throughout the route. Also know for protecting/defending
- Shades of: Stephon Gilmore
CB: Hope van Dyne / Wasp
- Chooses wisely when to strike and when to tackle, she has little wasted motion to plant, drive and close, wings allow for movement to make plays all over the field
- Shades of: Jalen Ramsey
Box S: Xu Shang-Chi
- Stout frame with desired height, weight speed totals, with a fiery attitude rubs off on his teammates
- Shades of: Johnathan Abram
Free S: Vision
- When he talks, all of the players will listen. Hits all the height, weight, speed marks you want for a free safety, and not to mention he sees so will be extremely insctinctive.
- Shades of: Jessie Bates III
Special Teams
Kicker/Punter: Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel
- gets as much hang time as screen time, whole doing not that much work or something like that, idk she’d be too powerful to actually play i think
